The abandoned section of the former Fukuchiyama Line stretches along the Mukogawa River, from Nisemasa Station (Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture) to Takeda-o Station (Takarazuka City, Hyogo Prefecture). The line was decommissioned in 1986, and since then, it has become known as a "hidden tourist spot where you can walk along an abandoned railway," attracting hikers and ruin enthusiasts who visited at their own risk. In November 2016, safety improvement work by JR was completed, and the trail is now officially open to the public as a hiking course. If you're in the area, it's worth taking a hike. Note that several tunnels are along the route, so a flashlight is necessary.
